Our Texas Longhorn cow Nscho-Tschi enjoying some fresh hay. The cattle usually eat some hay, then go back to find some fall grass, then come back to the hay. They always like to roam around. On a bigger pasture, they move from one end to the other throughout the day. Nscho-Tschi is 11 years old, born here at the ranch. Her horns are fully grown, most of the growth is in the first five years. The youngsters mature slower than other breeds, it takes them about four years to have their full size. Although like any other cattle breed, they could have their first calf when they are only two years old. Our few Longhorns are so used to us, they are calm and quiet. Nscho-Tschi sometimes likes a scratch on her neck or behind the horns.
Such a nice and peaceful picture! Good start into the day to watch your blog... ;-) Wish you a wonderful day too!
