http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQE_9nQRGE0On Friday we enjoyed a beautiful sunny fall day on a campfire horseback ride.
The link will show you a 2 minute movie of the day. First we ( my guests from Switzerland, Mirjam and Andreas, and I -Kathy ) got the horses from the corral, then brushed and saddled up. Rode away from the ranch, past our Longhorns on the pasture into the Canadian forest. Some parts of the forest are mostly aspen poplar trees, with golden leaves on the trees and lots already fallen off and covering the ground with gold. Other parts of the forest have a mossy ground and black spruce trees, it is serene to ride through there, just like in a fairy tale forest. Then some scattered pine tree with grass, that has turned yellow by now and following a small creek for a while. Some quiet gravel roads allow us to trot and after the lunch with empty saddle bags to enjoy a gallop. Fall weather is perfect, no biting bugs, not too hot, the horses are riders can truly just relax and savour the good smells of the forest.
