Sept. 27. Beautiful Fall Colours in Western Canada !

Our fall colours are just beautiful now. All the poplar aspen trees are golden or some still turn golden, nice contrast to the evergreens in the forest where we go horseback riding or on the hiking trails at Crimson Lake and Twin Lakes.
Our horses have grown more fall hair again and after a horseback ride during a warm day, they sweat quite a bit. They start to look cuddly again, as they do every winter with their thick coat.
Today is a windy day, mostly the days have been unusual warm for this time a year and very dry, it hasn't rained in days. Some grass is still green, a lot of the pasture starts to turn yellow, but has still plenty of good feed quality for our horses and Longhorns.

  2. In the first week of September the bushes turn color and it can be very warm during the day. The second week, the younger trees turn yellow. The third week the yellow of lots of trees is so bright and goes on until the end of September. The days can still be very warm or mild. In the first week of October the temperatures are lower, still some yellow leaves and the tamarrack trees turn golden now. More and more leaves fall within the second week of October.
