Sept. 14. A hot summer week in September !

The week before full moon treated us with summer temperatures and sun 24/7. The days temperatures went up to + 28 C degrees. What a wonderful way to start fall, for our guests to sit on the cabin's porch in the sun or go to nearby Crimson Lake to splash in the water. Now the temperatures are back to a season's normal, with sun around +18 C, cooler at night. The horses, Longhorns and bunnies have been growing their fall coat and feel more comfortable now, that it is not so hot anymore. There is still lots of green grass on the pasture, some longer grass turns yellow, so pretty. The first young trees and bushes started to turn yellow too a week ago. The golden fall will peak towards the end of September.
In the photo is a white tale deer mama with her spring baby. The little one still shows her spots, but has grown a lot since new born. We do see the deer often on the pasture and one can spot them easily while driving their car. We just watched "our" deer last evening from the house, while the group of four were walking into the corral, drinking some water at the stock waterer, licking the horses' salt block, then ducking under the rail fenced to go on. Of course they can very easily jump a fence, but without need, often just walk through an open gate or duck under.
