Aug. 19. A great month, August has been !
August has been a wonderful month so far and the weather forecast shows sun every day as well. We had a couple of rainy half days and often a thunderstorm rain at night, which is perfect for the pasture. Everything is very green, pasture grass as well as the underbush and grass in the forest. The rasberries are ripe and bigger than usual, we already saw some black bear droppings, black in color and filled with berries. The white tale deer will do well too with all the food and be ready for winter. Our winterpasture for the horses looks good and as long as we won't get as much snow again as last winter, they should have plenty to graze.
The nights have been cooling down quite a bit, the days are sunny and very warm,
not too hot, which is perfect at the ranch. Our guests enjoy sightseeing, driving out to the Rockies, go hiking at Crimson Lake, shop at the Western Store and some guests come along on the horseback rides. When we brush the horses, we notice a small change in their coat, due to the colder nights, they start to grow the first bit of fall coat. They spend all night out on pasture, during the day, they often rest, either laying down or standing up. The bunnies are happy to have visitors to their outside run. They are very interested and come and explore.
