After two weeks on this pasture it was time to move our small herd of Texas Longhorn cattle to fresh grass. So we saddled up. Our guests from Scotland, Susan and Stan , our guests from Edmonton, Joanne and Pietro, as well as Marty, Joe and Kathy. For two of the calves it was their first time to be moved, they are only a few days old. They stuck very close to their mommies. You see one of them, he is a brown one next to his whitish colored mom's (Secora) side on the right side in this picture. All went very well and none of the calves started to run in the wrong direction. The cows are always happy to have fresh, green pasture. After we went on a horseback ride to close a gate leading into the forest, kept on riding through the forest for a while, it is so very green now with plenty of moisture we got in Alberta.
