June 14. Out on the trail !

In this photo are Janice and Steve from Nova Scotia and Heidi from Lethbridge, Alberta. We were out on a fun horseback ride, sometimes in the pine and spruce forest like in this picture, sometimes in the fresh green poplar tree forest and sometimes along trails were we can trot and along quiet country roads, were it is perfect to lope. We also rode by our cattle to check on them on the far West pasture and did a barrel pattern set out on the grass. Was fun, everybody did awesome.
The grass is growing really nice now in June with lots of warm hours, sunshine and enough rain here and there. The animals are in heaven to have plenty of green grass, the bunnies love to eat the dandy lion, they enjoy the yellow flower heads as well as the whole stem.
Spring and summer is also Rodeo time in Alberta. There are smaller and bigger rodeos each weekend to choose from. At school in Rocky they had rodeo day last Friday when everybody could dress up.
