Hi All ! Wishing all the moms a wonderful Mother's day ! Enjoy !This past week at the ranch: the horses still have lots of winter hair and we are covered in horsehair every time we brush them. In this picture you see how much white hair Tashunka still has, Red Cloud too, but it shows less being a bay colored horse.
The two newborn Longhorn calves from first time moms are doing very good now. Both were very slow when born and we had to give them extra milk, but now, they prefer to have their mom's milk only. Both are boys and very nicely colored, lots of brown and white speckles.
Nature is right on time, the first green grass (short!) is a treat for the horses and Longhorns. Our two bunnies, Buddy and Spots, love to nibble on the green grass.
Our two bulls are in the corral next to the barn and have the two young cows with calves with them. All six were laying in the one shelter when a rain shower hit us yesterday evening.
Today is a rainy day, after that the forecast lots of sunshine!
We see a lot of white tale deer, they love to come out onto the meadows for the first green. While riding the horses in the forest, we also saw a lot of moose droppings, but never saw the animal.
