May 22. Move the Cattle !

Part of our Spring Cowgirl and Cowboy Experience: Sarah and Mike from G.B. sorting out our Texas Longhorn in the corrals.

First the five of us rode onto pasture to move the cattle into the corral, sorted them out and left them out on the nearby pasture. We had to make sure, the little calves were with their moms all the time. Then through the North pasture onto the country road, and finally onto the pasture they can stay at for about ten days. The cows were sure happy to have the tasty, fresh green grass.

Past week at the ranch: we went into our forest several times to cut some rails for the fences and replaced broken and older ones. We had to check a fence line in the forest, which is hard walking with the chain saw, through bushes and bog and over logs. This weekend is May Long Weekend and we are busy with wonderful guests. Little Nickolas was happy to feed the one baby calf a milk bottle and pet the bunnies. Our horseback riding guests had fun on the lunch ride and move the cattle adventure. The temperatures are perfect, warm and sunny.
